The Aventon Sinch Step-Through folding e-Bike is the successor for the original Aventon Sinch folding bike, but don’t let that fool you into thinking this is merely an upgrade. Outside of the motor and battery, the Since step-through is almost entirely new. The 2022 model of the Sinch is an ebike full of surprises.

DESCRIPTION
The Newest Aventon
The step-through Sinch is Aventon’s newest electric bike. Aventon have gone to great lengths to deliver a folding electric bike that is almost unrecognisable from its predecessor. We see a totally new design with a new range of colours.
What you essentially get is all the performance and gadgetry from a regular e-bike condensed into the frame of a folding bike, and Aventon has merged the two worlds perfectly.
Features
Efficiency
The Sinch comes with a 500W motor & uses it to power the ride to an approximate range of 65km. With the same variety of riding modes and the option to power the bike with the thumb throttle only, this is one of the few electric bikes in the Australian market that you can actually expect to meet its distance rating.
Hill-Climbing Ability
Another of the Sinch ST’s surprises is just how much torque Aventon has pulled from its motor. Even in throttle-only mode, this e-bike can carry a rider uphill for an extended period of time whilst maintaining a 10-15kph speed.
Frame
An aluminium alloy frame holds the Sinch together, with the battery integrated smoothly into the downtube. The weight of the unit is altogether a little higher than the average folding bike coming in at 31kg, so this is a ride that’s designed to be stored in small spaces as opposed to be carried around or up and down stairs.
Folding Mechanism
One of the biggest surprises you’ll find on the Sinch is its folding mechanism. With the Sinch, Aventon has managed to create a very solid, secure, and quiet locking mechanism. There’s no frame wobble or clicking noises from anywhere on the frame, and the ride feels much more like what you’d expect from a solid frame.
Brakes
The Sinch ST uses Tektro mechanical disk brakes for its stopping power. They produce a better-than-average stopping distance, coming to a complete stop in just under 4m from a speed of 32kph. And thanks to the frame’s rigidity, stopping that quickly doesn’t cause a loss of control or instability.
Off-Road Heritage
While the ST doesn’t have the knobbly off-road tyres found on the original, that doesn’t mean you can’t take it onto cycle tracks & dirt trails. While it isn’t designed for extreme terrain or punishment, you can still take the Sinch ST on far-reaching adventures. Easy to fold up and store in the back of your car, tent, or caravan, it’s an ideal companion for holidays to Australia’s countryside.
Add in its sturdy build, high torque, good range, and longer wheelbase than most folding bikes, and you end up with a folding e-bike that rides more like a regular e-bike.
New & Improved
Aventon pride themselves on their attention to detail, and that veritable pedantry can be felt on every cycle. From a solid and quiet folding mechanism, to powerful brakes & surprising uphill performance, the Sinch is a comfortable & stable ride. Its step-through frame makes it a better folding bike for those with limited mobility or those who don’t like more traditional step-over bikes.
